The Associated Press has reported the concern that is now being shown in the safety of medical aircrafts after the number of the fatal crashes reached 21 for the year.
The fatal crash of the Air Evac Team that killed three in Scotland, Ark, was the fourth fatal crash of a medical aircraft this summer. This years total has skyrocketed past last year, when six people were killed in medical aviation accidents.
Some are concerned that the Federal Aviation Administration has not implemented the recommendations from the National Transportation Safety Board for medical helicopters and planes. One recommendation includes requiring planes to have systems that show when the plane is in danger of crashing or if the flight path is to dangerous.
